Vision Therapy and Reading Center

Red Apple is a specialized vision therapy practice and reading center, serving southwestern PA for over 25 years, dedicated to helping children and adults develop the visual skills they need to learn, perform, and function at their best.

Dr. Maria Vitale, optometrist and owner of Red Apple, has a passion for helping patients understand that vision is about more than seeing 20/20. Our practice provides individualized vision therapy programs for patients experiencing challenges with eye teaming, focusing, tracking, visual processing, visual perception, and other areas of functional vision. We also work with patients whose visual systems have been affected by a concussion or traumatic brain injury.

While vision therapy is the foundation of our business, Red Apple also offers a multisensory reading program designed to support children who need additional or alternative instruction and reinforcement in reading skills. 

At Red Apple, we believe that seeing clearly is only one part of having strong vision. Our goal is to identify and address underlying visual skill deficits that may interfere with reading, learning, school performance, sports, work, or everyday activities.
