Lindsay Carter, founder, owner and CEO of Rooted in Healing Counseling Center, has been in the mental health world for 12 years. She began as a client herself; an insecure teenager who had made decisions that were leading her down an uncertain path. She would then stay on that path for almost 15 years. She found hope through church and therapists, but quickly drifted off the path God had set for her. It was through the Word and psychotherapy that she was finally able to come to terms with God’s love and learn skills to ensure her own autonomy to engage in healthy communication, trusting relationships and an overall feeling of fulfillment in life! Lindsay finished her undergraduate degree in 2011 from Bethany College, in Social Work, taking one class at a time and working full time to support her daughter. She began graduate school at Geneva College obtaining a Master of Art in Family and Marriage Therapy in May 2016. And in came another unexpected blessing from God; her now husband of 9 years-Eddie. Being able to take her, and her daughter in as his own, and support Lindsay through graduate school is testament to his love, and he is standing right next to her once again, cheering her on and encouraging her. Eddie and Lindsay live in Washington, PA with their three daughters and two dogs.
